Painting with Light

Abstract Light

Whenever I think about light, I recall those school Physics lessons, and how we learned that ‘white’ light consists of many other colours; remember the Prism experiment ?

Now besides those experiments, there are other fascinating things about light such as the fact that light naturally travels in straight lines, well it did back then… plus the speed at which light travels being 671 million miles an hour makes it possible to work out the distance of a lightning strike. Of course you’ll need to know about the speed of sound too. And did you know that light from the sun takes several minutes to reach us here on earth….

Please correct me on my facts, it has been a while since I left school.

Anyway, the following images are just some of the amazing effects you can achieve with a DSLR camera, a car and a slow shutter speed.

Feel free to use these images as backgrounds for your graphics projects. You can also contact me if you would like hi-res versions.
